Primal Freedom is an account of my journey back to health and a fit body. My aim is to help and inspire anyone who wants to make the same changes in their lives.
At 37 years old and with a lifetime of dieting, health issues and obsessing about food, I am now free of cravings, binging and worry and am starting to enjoy being in my body.
I now eat to satisfy my hunger and appetite. There is no denial or deprivation in the way I eat. Seriously, would you feel deprived after eating a rich spicy curry, or juicy steak, delicious colourful vegetables, juicy sweet fruits, full fat yoghurt and even a little bit of dark chocolate? Without worrying about how many calories it was? Especially if you were getting leaner and healthier every day. Especially if between meals you weren’t craving sweets and crisps.
In the past eight weeks I have gone from obese (BMI 30, body fat 42%) to overweight(BMI 28.5) and I will be blogging as I continue to a normal healthy weight and fat percentage.
So why call it Primal Freedom?
Primal:
I am following a plan called the Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson. You can red more about the plan on marksdailyapple.com. I owe a debt of gratitude to Mark Sisson. His plan has immeasurably improved my life.
Freedom:
Over the last few years I have learned many techniques for eliminating limiting beliefs and negative emotions, simply and easily. I have learned easy techniques for tuning into my body and ask it what it wants. I do not see these techniques being talked about in the ‘paleosphere’. Possibly they seem too “woo-woo” for a lot of people, especially ones who pride themselves of scientific thinking and reasoning. But i am here to tell you that these techniques do work. They have lifted a whole bunch of trauma and anxiety from my life and I just want everyone to feel as good as I do! Even if you are sceptical I encourage you to try them out for yourself. After all many people are sceptical about the primal diet as it is so far out of conventional wisdom, yet there are thousands of people who are thriving and benefiting from this way of living. Well what if conventional wisdom is wrong about how we process our thoughts ands emotions too? (clue: it is!). We have nothing to lose but our problems!
Let the revolution begin!
